3 Things that get me out of bed in the morning!

Mornings have always felt very sacred to me. I've always cherished getting an early, calm start to my day. I have always considered myself to be a morning person but (if I'm being honest) as we begin to welcome autumn as the mornings begin to feel a bit more crisp, there's nothing more I would rather do than stay cozied up in bed. I recently, somehow, landed two internships for the fall / winter (a wellness podcast & a luxurious skin care brand) so with lots to do, early mornings are a must before I spend the day glued to my laptop and phone.

The first thing helping me get out of bed in the morning is Copina Co! Incase you haven't heard of them, Copina Co shares plant-based collagen blends with a variety of flavors and healthy ingredients to mix with your favorite foods or drinks. I personally love their Matcha and Cacao Calm blends (Use code STACEYDS10 for 10% off).
On days I feel like having matcha, I have a few go-to recipes. My favorites are a classic strawberry matcha and then a matcha and banana smoothie with coconut milk. I haven't had a chance yet to try new recipes with the cacao blend, but I love adding it to peanut butter and banana smoothies!
I look forward to mornings I get to have a yummy Copina Co blend while I'm journaling, going through emails or doing some light morning cleaning.

I've always been quite negligent when it came to my morning skin care routine and getting ready. As a homebody and having most of my work being done from home, I've never had the motivation and desire to prepare for the day as if I was leaving the house.
Now it may have been all thanks to the pandemic and being cooped up in the house for quite a while or the fact that I have to hop on random zoom calls, but I've been looking forward to my morning skin routine along with throwing something a bit more presentable on that aren't pajamas.
I keep my skin routine in the morning simple since my night time routines are a bit more different. I usually just use my holy grails: The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid, Merci Handy's Moisturizing Facial Jelly, The Ordinary's Caffeine Solution, Pacifica's SPF and lastly Beia's Facial Mist. I always believe less is more with skin care and I try to only implement products my skin really need for the day. Especially with very dry and sensitive skin, I don't always like packing on an excessive amount of products. Only the ones that get the job done!
When it comes to getting ready, I still believe comfort is key. Typically my style is comfort over everything but since I will be working remote for the fall / winter I won't typically throw on a pair of jeans but instead comfortable pants I can still lounge around in. I've been living in these ribbed pants I thrifted off of ThredUp from one of my favorite brands, Uniqlo, so since they aren't in stores anymore I will like a similar pair. Also if you know me, you'll know I've been obsessed with the anime Demon Slayer. Recently Uniqlo dropped a collection of tees from the show and I got my hands on a Zenitsu tee and I'm obsessed.
Lastly, mornings wouldn't be complete with out a moment of journaling. Whether it's coming up with poems, writing down my thoughts, or jotting down affirmations or a gratitude list. Journaling has been a great way to start and end my days with a sense of peace. Bring able to write down whatever is going on in my head has been highly therapeutic. I recently ordered a beautiful journal from Tree Tribe! They're made from leaf leather and also small enough to carry around with you anywhere with out it weighing down your bag. What I especially love is that they sell refills so you can use the same journal for as long as you like.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I never know how to start a new journal! If you're anything like me here are a few ideas: one sentence a day, sketchbook, affirmations, travel journal, recipes, bucket list, poems, dream journal, and honestly the list goes on!
I'm looking forward to this new season and all it will have to offer. Remember that autumn is the season to find contentment at home by paying attention to what we already have. It's a season about letting go, shedding anything that's no longer serving us and sowing new seeds for the rest of the year. A little reminder: allow yourself to let go and grow this season.
Happy Autumn Equinox! See you in the next post!
