To celebrate Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip to California as a little late v-day getaway. Although it rained the first two days and the temperature was in the 50s, we still enjoyed our stay to the fullest.
We stayed in Gardenia and mostly drove around when we wanted to do things. Day one was spent in LA. It was POURING so we didn't spend a lot of time adventuring around. We first had brunch at Home Restaurant which was so delicious, I definitely recommend their hot chocolate! Afterwards we passed by Glossier LA where I picked up a few essentials. And for a last stop we picked up some matcha boba at Junbi.
Day two was for San Diego. Although it rained for a little while, we got especially lucky to have a bit of sun finally come out! We spent the day in La Jolla watching the seals and sea lions and walking along the shore taking in the beautiful views.
Day three was my favorite day spent in Malibu. The sun finally appeared and although it wasn't as warm, it was still a beautiful day spent exploring. We took a trip up to the Griffith Observatory and saw the Hollywood sign. Then we visited an amazing beach with the most beautiful views! We spent sunset there then headed back towards LA to get street tacos and In-and-Out for dinner. We also took a trip to the Last Bookstore which was closing so I didn't get to explore it as much as I wanted to.
Monday came and our morning flight had cancelled so we ended up booking a later flight for that same day which was an absolute nightmare. But we still made the best if the situation and took another drive down to San Diego while it was still sunny and had lunch at Mike's Tacos then walked along the beach for a little while and got dessert afterwards. Although it was a hectic trip, it was still an amazing weekend and I'm already looking forward to going back to explore more. Until next time California!
